A Concrete Polisher's Toolkit

By Mercie Hallow

Concrete Polishing needs tools to be able to achieve successfully. A floor contractor is faced with various methods available and resources or additional informations are always provided for. Having the right kind of tool for a specific method will make the procedure efficient and easy.

Rags or pieces of used cloths are never left behind on a concrete polishers toolkit. These items can be used for scrubbing tints to wiping excess water in a workers surface. It can also be use to remove dust from a concrete grinder and cleaning other tools during demobilization.

A grinder is also a concrete polisher's "must-have". This is mainly used in concrete grinding method where the surface is prepared by grinding before application of a sealant and an epoxy paint for the gloss and sheen. Grinders can come in different types and shapes.

A tape is essential when preparing the floor that needs to be stained. A thick and handy painters tape or even a common masking tape can be used. Tapes can come also in different widths- narrow widths are better when a decorative artwork is being applied. Wider widths are advisable if staining will be done on a wider, bigger design scale.

A household mop is also used in concrete polishing applications. Same as with using rags in coloring or providing tints on a surface-a mop is used for wider areas of preparation. It is also used to wipe excess water that results from the surface preparation.

Squegees are also used as a tool in concrete polishing preparation. They are mainly used to spread out the new layer of sealer to the concrete that is filled with cracks due to wear and tear. It is also used to remove excess water out of the surface.

We never knew that these household items are also used on concrete polishing and they are essential tools at that. Using these tools will result in an effective concrete polishing method. - 15615
