The Advantages of Choosing Wooden Venetian Blinds

By James Anthony

There are many different kinds of window dressings one can purchase and one that is proving ever more popular today are wooden venetian blinds. These types of blinds as well as preventing sunlight from entering a room can be opened so that enough can be allowed in that will help to warm the room up.

There are plenty of reasons why interior designers choose to install wooden venetian blinds into their client's home and below we take a look at just what some of these are.

1. These blinds can help to create a much warmer and comfortable atmosphere in a room in your home. Also as long as they are cared for correctly these are very durable and below we show you what you need to do.

2. You have the opportunity to be able to match the wood in the blinds to the wood trim and furniture in your home. This will in turn create a more uniformed look to the rooms in which they have been placed.

3. Although readymade wooden Venetian blinds are great if you have windows of an unusual size then you may well have to spend more on getting some custom made blinds instead. Although they cost more, they are far more functional and you will have wider array of styles and designs to select from. Plus with custom made blinds you will able to find a color that is the same or as similar to the color of the other items made from wood you have in your home.

Above we have looked at just some of the reasons why people decide to get wooden Venetian blinds installed. But once you have them installed if you want them to keep looking good you need to make sure that you take care of them correctly.

First off you should make sure that the blinds are cleaned regular to prevent any dust or dirt building up on them. You can do this very easily using either a soft brush or a soft duster, both of which must be clean. The other way of cleaning wooden Venetian blinds is by putting the brush attachment on to your vacuum cleaner.

You can wipe the blinds down using a damp cloth but never should you immerse them fully into water. If you do eventually water will be able to break through the seal of the wooden Venetian blind slats and this will cause them to warp. So to help remove any stubborn dirt or dust from the blinds you just need to wipe over the surface of the slats with a damp cloth with some detergent on it.

Do you want window coverings that let in ample amounts of light but also ensure that others cannot see into your home? Then you may want to seriously think about getting some wooden Venetian blinds installed. - 15615
