Humility is what brings the right balance into our lives. Instead of thinking that we can handle things without God, or feeling unworthy to walk with Him, we recognize that our life in Him is all His grace. When we have that right focus we are yielded to the Spirit and walking in a right relationship with God, and in turn, we grow more in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus.

A good way to think of it is to imagine God holding your hand, teaching you His ways as you walk beside Him. It takes the humility of a child to not get ahead of the Lord and to listen and to trust Him to set the right pace. It also takes humility not to lag behind Him and to remember that in His grace, He forgives our unfaithfulness and even forgets our transgressions as we come back to Him, and allow Him to continue to lead, guide, and direct us. God recognizes that this childlike quality of humility is not possible for us to develop on our own. When our hearts are hardened by our sinful reactions to life's circumstances, we forget how to accept God's helping hand. Yet the Lord welcomes us in our sorrow and repentance with open arms of love, and bestows upon us all the blessings reserved for His children. Once you have put your faith in Jesus as Lord, He is there to teach you what it means to live a life of humility as you purpose yourself to let Him take the wheel of your life.

If you are finding that despite your efforts to control every aspect of your life, you are not finding the happiness and peace you seek, the answer can be found in learning humility. By opening your heart to Jesus and walking with Him, and by turning your life over to Him, you can reach heights of success you never imagined.

While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl, who was probably his jailer's daughter, who visited him during his prison confinement. It is believed that he wrote her a love letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today.

Although the truth behind all the Valentine legends is murky, the stories emphasize Valentine's appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no great surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France. From that popular tradition it was easy enough for merchants to seize upon the "a Valentine for lovers" theme and suggest that giving gifts, if only a card, was the right thing to do. Overcoming Lifes Problems by Seeing Them from Gods Perspective

Have you ever faced a problem or challenge that just seemed insurmountable? Have you ever felt like giving up because of an difficulty looming in front of you like a mountain? If you have, then I can assure that you are not alone, and that I along with most other people have felt the same way at times. In fact, Jesus Himself assured believers that there would be mountains in our lives that would need to be moved in order for us to possess Gods best for us. Since obstacles and challenges are going to arise, then clearly the question we need answered is, What is the key to prevailing over lifes obstacles? The key to overcoming lifes challenges and problems in victory lies in seeing them from the proper perspective. If you can begin to see your problems from Gods perspective, then you can apply your faith effectively to overcome them.

I used to travel a lot on business for the company that I worked for, and I frequently found myself flying on airplanes. For some reason, God has chosen to give me some amazing revelations on plane rides, and I am about to share one of them with you. One of my favorite parts of being on an airplane is the takeoff. The jet slings down the runway and all of a sudden youre hurling through the air. As the plane gains altitude your perspective on the world begins to change. Buildings such as schools and hospitals that look huge when you are on the ground all of a sudden begin to look very small as the plane rises higher and higher. What has changed? Not the buildings, they are the same size they were when you were standing on the ground. The change has been in your perspective. Now that you are viewing those same large buildings from several thousand feet in the air they look very small even though they have not actually changed in size at all.

The same concept of perspective holds true when you apply it to the difficulties, or mountains, in your life. Chapter 2 of the book of Ephesians says that believers have been seated with Christ in Heavenly places. How can we apply this to our everyday lives? It means that from Gods perspective we are seated with Him in His Heavenly throne room right next to Jesus. Ephesians 1 tells us that all things are under the feet of Jesus, and that we are His body. Since we are the body of Christ, this means that all things are under our feet, also. The Bible also makes it clear that the earth is Gods footstool, and that His throne is high above the earth.

If we put all of this information together, we can clearly see that from Gods Heavenly perspective all of the problems that we face in life are no bigger in His eyes than those tiny buildings we see from thousands of feet above the ground in an airplane. We are seated right next to Him in Heavenly places in Christ, and so all of lifes obstacles should also appear like those tiny buildings to us as well if we will simply adopt Gods proper perspective on them. If we try to face a mountain in our own strength then it will appear huge, but if we will view it from our position in Christ then it will look very tiny indeed. I want to challenge you today to begin viewing the obstacles and mountains that face you from your Heavenly position in Christ. Once you have the right perspective on a mountain so that you see it as a small thing compared to Gods ability, you simply need to trust God to move it and watch Him go to work on your behalf. A period that spanned for over 700 years, the medieval period is also referred to as the Middle Ages, a time marked by various historical events. It was during the late medieval period when the Renaissance, or the age of cultural advancement, began in Europe. The use of tapestry is also very common during the Middle Ages. Tapestries during the Middle Ages were used for providing insulation, privacy, and covering in castles. And since tapestries are portable, kings and noble men took their tapestry pieces during travels. During the beginning of the Renaissance, tapestries were used during special occasions for decorative purposes. Flanders then was the center of tapestry production in Europe. Unicorns, religion, and chivalry are the common themes of medieval tapestries, as well as historical events that involved war and invasion and the struggle of royalties in a certain kingdom.

When this low budget film, with a cast of unknown actors and actresses, came out in 1987, it took a whole lot of critics and moviegoers by surprise and by storm. The amazing part is that it manages to surprise and delight audiences to this day. This film has brought in more than three hundred million dollars from all over the world, and set a record in home video sales as the first to sell more than a million copies. The soundtrack produced two multi-platinum albums and a huge number of singles.

The dancing in this movie is certainly "dirty" by most popular standards of 1963, when it takes place. Foxtrot it is not. Mambo to the max is more like it. If you were old enough to see the movie when it first appeared, watching it now is a "trip", and a really good one! The main characters are Frances Houseman, known to family and friends as "Baby", and Johnny Castle, a hunk of a dance instructor. Jennifer Grey is the perfect actress for the role of "Baby", and Patrick Swayze emerges into stardom with his portrayal of Johnny Castle.

The Houseman family is vacationing at Kellerman's, a Jewish resort in the Catskills, and they are honored guests since Baby's father is family physician to the owner of the resort. Baby is seventeen and "couldn't wait to join the Peace Corp and save the world." Her father dotes on her, but expects her to save the world by following in his footsteps. When his "Baby" gets mixed up with the crowd of "dirty dancing" people who party and dance dirty, he is appalled.

Johnny Castle is very much a ladies' man, but until he meets Baby, he has only been using and being used by women. When his dance partner gets a botched abortion, unknowingly financed by Dr. Houseman at Baby's insistence, and she has to call her father to save the dancer's life, the doctor assumes that Johnny is the guilty party and forbids his daughter to have anything further to do with "those people".

Baby has done what she believes is the right thing, but it causes a painful rift between her Dad and her growing understanding of herself. She finds herself offering to stand in for Penny, mostly so Johnny won't lose his "gig". With some really intense lessons from the pro, they develop a pretty stunning routine of their own. Yes, Baby falls in love.

Meanwhile, Lisa is about to make a big mistake with Robbie, who is the unrepentant cause of Penny's abortion. Johnny, too proud to defend himself, is about to get fired on other grounds, but Baby starts growing into Frances when she provides his alibi, at her own expense.

The "dirty dancing" that these two wonderfully believable young people supply is so entrancing because it is both sensual and sophisticated, yet still has a purity that defies any element of sleaze. It is just a joy to watch them together. The grand finale has the entire clientele of Kellerman's on their feet and getting into the spirit in a big way. It's a triumph of courage over self-doubt, and love over any darn thing that stands in its way!

The movie's title can apply to all the different scenarios that unfold as the story progresses. The actual dance scenes, including the "instruction" of Baby by Johnny in the correct steps and attitudes, are beautifully choreographed and entirely believable. Dirty Dancing is far from dirty. It is sensuous and sexual but somehow innocent - and very, very attractive! Patrick Swayze is irresistible, and Jennifer Grey is the epitome of the na?ve but innately sensual girl becoming a woman.

The movie translates well into the Broadway stage production also. The stage musical adaptation of Dirty Dancing has played to enthusiastic theatre goers in Germany, England, Canada and even Australia, and is still showing in London. If you move fast you can still see the touring production of the musical in Boston, but it is scheduled to close March 15th of this year.
